Josh Cheng graduated from Stanford with a degree in Economics and currently serves as the Executive Director of the Stanford Center at Peking University (SCPKU). In this capacity, he provides overall leadership for the Center’s operations, strategic planning, and external relations, and is responsible for advancing its mission as Stanford University’s academic exchange platform in Beijing.

Prior to joining SCPKU, Mr. Cheng accumulated several decades of senior executive experience in multinational corporations across China and the United States, with professional expertise spanning strategic consulting, financial services, and industrial manufacturing. He has led Asia-Pacific operations for leading global enterprises, including Celanese, General Electric, McKinsey & Company, and Xerox. His experience includes building and managing high-performing local teams in China, overseeing complex joint venture initiatives, and executing regional growth and operational strategies.

With a comprehensive understanding of the economic systems, educational institutions, and cultural contexts of both China and the United States, Mr. Cheng has been actively engaged in promoting academic collaboration, institutional partnership, and cross-cultural exchange between the two countries.
