National Development and Reform Commission International Cooperation Center and UN Global Leadership and ESG Development Center Sign Strategic Cooperation Agreement to Jointly Promote Green Belt and Road Initiative and Global Sustainable Development

The International Cooperation Center (ICC) of the National Development and Reform Commission and the UN Global Leadership and ESG Development Programme (UNGLEP) signed a strategic cooperation agreement in Beijing, committing to advance the high-quality development of the Green Belt and Road Initiative, strengthen global cooperation on climate change response, deepen collaboration in green and low-carbon industries and investment projects, and enhance global ESG sustainable development, while providing professional, authoritative, and constructive capacity-building and innovative practical solutions.


The two parties will establish a joint working team to deepen cooperation in the following key areas: conducting collaborative research to promote ESG system development and participation in global rule-making; organizing global leadership training programs and establishing institutionalized international project exchange platforms; jointly fostering industry-academia-research collaboration platforms to facilitate comprehensive green and low-carbon development and the implementation of digital transformation practices; and promoting partnerships in social impact investment and sustainable development capacity-building projects.


This strategic cooperation marks a solid step forward in advancing the global sustainable development agenda, particularly in promoting the Green Belt and Road Initiative and addressing climate change, with the aim of contributing China's wisdom and strength to building a community with a shared future for mankind.
