United Nations Youth Leadership 2025 Spring Innovation Week concluded successfully

Beijing, February 2025 - Early spring in Beijing, everything is revived and full of vitality. In this season full of hope, 40 young students from all over China gathered in Beijing to participate in the "United Nations Global Youth Excellence Leadership Sustainable Development 2025 Spring Innovation Week" co-organized by the United Nations Global Leadership and ESG Development Center (UNGLEP) and the United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR). The event is themed "Intelligently Inspired Future: Technology Empowers a Sustainable World" and focuses on global issues such as digital economy, clean energy, and climate action. It aims to help young students grow into a new generation of change makers, contributors, and leaders with global vision and social responsibility through in-depth dialogues with top business leaders and field visits to SDG model companies.

Opening Ceremony of the United Nations Youth Leadership 2025 Spring Innovation Week

On February 9, the Innovation Week kicked off with a solemn and warm opening ceremony. Dr. Luo Xiang, Chairman of the Management Committee of the United Nations Global Leadership and ESG Development Center (UNGLEP), delivered an enthusiastic speech at the opening ceremony. He pointed out that 2025 is the 30th anniversary of the adoption of the World Youth Action Program, and this time node has special historical significance. Dr. Luo Xiang called on young people around the world to take immediate action, shoulder the mission and responsibility of promoting sustainable development, and strive to cultivate "role model power, organizational power, decision-making power, resilience, innovation, and communication power", and strive to become a pioneering force, role model power and leadership force to promote the practice of global sustainable development goals.

The Innovation Week activities were wonderful and varied, divided into four modules, including SDG special sharing by UN officials, SDG model enterprise visits and leadership roundtable dialogues, leadership training sharing by senior mentors of multinational companies, and full guidance by outstanding young mentors. Young students visited many world-leading multinational companies to gain an in-depth understanding of the "deep integration of innovative technology and sustainable development", focusing on sustainable development practices in the fields of artificial intelligence and robots, intelligent zero-carbon manufacturing, green design and supply chain, clean technology and renewable energy, and interacted with corporate leaders and project mentors on the spot.

In the field of automotive design and R&D, students visited Asia's largest independent automotive design company, Alte Automotive Technology Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Alte"). During the visit, Alte won high praise from the students present for its deep R&D capabilities in the entire process of complete vehicles and complete vehicle platforms, as well as its outstanding achievements in the development of new energy intelligent platforms and the R&D and manufacturing of core components. In terms of innovation, in recent years, Arte has gradually formed a broad ecosystem with partners in the fields of AI, autonomous driving, and robots; in terms of international expansion, it is committed to the overseas expansion of China's new energy vehicle technology and supply chain, contributing technical strength to the global automotive industry, and fully demonstrating the social responsibility of enterprises in sustainable development.

United Nations Youth Leadership 2025 Spring Innovation Week Enters Multinational Companies

In the field of digital security and green governance, students visited 360 Digital Security Group and experienced its innovative achievements in security big models, data security and compliance, and talent training. As the only company in China with both digital security and artificial intelligence capabilities, 360 launched the first security industry big model applied to actual combat - 360 Security Big Model. This innovation makes security truly "autonomous driving". In addition, 360 actively cultivates cybersecurity talents and AI talents with practical experience with the help of ISC.Al Academy, and delivers a large number of professional talents to the industry every year, laying a solid foundation for the continued and steady development of the industry.

In the field of artificial intelligence-driven global development, young students visited Douyin. Students experienced the universal AI assistant "Doubao Al" and academic paper retrieval tool PaSa developed by ByteDance. The wide application of these tools in daily life and work scenarios left a deep impression on everyone. At Accenture, young students have an in-depth understanding of Accenture's latest progress in digital transformation, cloud computing, and AI technology applications. Accenture actively promotes the goal of achieving net zero emissions as soon as possible through measures such as 100% renewable energy power supply, 100% recycling of e-waste, and elimination of disposable plastics. Accenture is actively reducing its carbon footprint and assisting customers in transitioning to low-carbon energy, especially in optimizing carbon footprint in the fields of IT and cloud computing. Accenture has also developed sign language AI translation glasses for the hearing-impaired and provided a vibration coding keyboard for blind programmers, reflecting its inclusive design concept.

In the zero-carbon smart manufacturing and green supply chain section, young students visited GE Healthcare's Beijing imaging manufacturing base and gained an in-depth understanding of its lean management practices and innovations. GE Healthcare has achieved high-quality and cost-effective production goals through process standardization, single-piece flow production, and lean culture cultivation. In addition, GE Healthcare has combined lean management with green smart manufacturing concepts to push the factory toward the goal of "zero waste and zero emissions", fully demonstrating the company's responsibility and commitment in sustainable development. At Lenovo Group's Tianjin Smart Factory, students experienced its innovative achievements in AI-driven resilient production, green manufacturing systems, and smart zero-carbon park demonstrations. Lenovo reduces carbon emissions in the production process through an intelligent energy consumption management system, realizes intelligent scheduling and real-time monitoring, supports efficient customized production of servers and edge computing equipment, promotes the use of green electricity and electronic waste recycling in production lines, and demonstrates the company's outstanding practices in intelligent manufacturing and sustainable development. At BOE, students gained an in-depth understanding of the innovative practices of this world-leading IoT innovation company in full-life cycle carbon management, zero-carbon factories, and green electricity applications. BOE has demonstrated its social responsibility in green and low-carbon development by building a product carbon footprint platform, promoting carbon reduction throughout the entire process, and investing in a 200 MW "Muguangchu" integrated photovoltaic power station.

In the field of innovative technology for clean energy and carbon neutrality goals, the students visited Goldwind Technology. This clean energy equipment manufacturer, which enjoys a high reputation worldwide for its technological innovation, demonstrated its innovative achievements in the field of wind power, incorporating ecological restoration benefits and social benefits into its calculations, proving that the ultimate competitiveness of new energy lies in multi-dimensional value creation. Goldwind Technology has not only reduced its impact on the environment, but also benefited 20 provinces and cities across the country through actions such as the "Wind Run China" charity tour, solving local employment problems. At the Airbus Tianjin assembly line, students gained an in-depth understanding of its innovative practices in sustainable strategy, leading low-carbon development of aerospace, advanced manufacturing technology, local cooperation and talent training. Airbus Tianjin Factory has improved manufacturing efficiency and quality through digital assembly and intelligent production lines while adhering to the bottom line of safety; in addition, Airbus Tianjin assembly line has taken the lead in the normalization of the use of sustainable aviation fuel, catalyzing the energy transformation of the entire aviation industry, and demonstrating the company's global leading position in the field of sustainable aviation.

In the field of intelligent collaborative robots and industrial automation, students visited Mecha-Mind Robotics. This company, which focuses on industrial robots and Al vision solutions, demonstrated its innovative achievements in intelligent sorting systems, collaborative robots, flexible production support, etc. Mecha-Mind's solutions have been successfully implemented in many industries such as automobiles, electronics, and logistics, helping companies improve production efficiency, reduce labor costs, and promote the construction of an industrial automation ecosystem.
