On January 18, 2025, the United Nations Global Leadership and ESG Development Center (UNGLEP) successfully held the "Multinational Corporations Empowering Global Youth Leadership Sustainable Development Roundtable" and the Multinational Corporation SDG Senior Mentor Recruitment in Beijing. The first batch of more than 30 senior leaders from world-renowned multinational companies accepted the center's appointment as influential practitioners of the Global Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and became "United Nations Global Youth Excellence Leadership Sustainable Development Senior Mentors. The mission of the Youth Leadership Project initiated by UNGLEP is to organize and mobilize all valuable resources and forces to promote the realization of the goals of the "United Nations 2030 Youth Strategy", encourage young people around the world to actively pay attention to challenging and urgent global issues such as peace and development, clean energy, gender equality and human rights protection, promote them to have a deep understanding of industrial technological innovation and share their life growth experiences with direct dialogue with corporate leaders, and cultivate leaders with global vision in cross-cultural backgrounds and complex international environments to become the next generation of leaders who provide global solutions!

The SDG mentors of multinational companies hired this time have rich cross-cultural work experience, profound professional knowledge and leadership. As mentors, they will actively participate in SDG-themed project activities held in the future, and jointly shoulder the mission to cultivate outstanding leadership and action to implement sustainable development goals. At the roundtable meeting, Dr. Luo Xiang, Chairman of the Management Committee of the United Nations Global Leadership and ESG Development Center, delivered an opening speech, pointing out that the process of promoting global sustainability (SDGs) faces serious challenges, and identifying key goals and fully empowering the active participation of young people around the world has become one of the important measures. Dr. Luo Xiang called on major multinational companies to not only pay attention to their own economic growth, but also to social responsibility, focusing on empowering young people in the fields of digital economy, artificial intelligence, clean energy, green finance and impact investment. Leadership, innovation and execution, UNGLEP will be committed to building a long-term system for SDG and E cultivation with multinational partners, launching the United Nations Global Youth Excellent Leadership Technology and Climate Innovation Week, the multinational company global college student training partner program, and the SDG and ESG online courses for college and high school students, providing young people with a global SDG meeting and knowledge sharing platform to promote the realization of global sustainable development goals.

Mentors represented by Lu Yuebing, Chairman of the Management Committee of the Multinational Carbon Neutrality 50 Forum and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Air Liquide (China) Investment Co., Ltd., Zhao Bingdi, President of Panasonic (China) Co., Ltd., Wang Huiwen, Vice President and Chief Quality Officer of Intelligent Devices of Lenovo Group, and Professor Zuo Xiaolei, a famous economist and special financial researcher of the State Council Counselor's Office, delivered speeches one after another. They highly praised the work done by UNGLEP in promoting global youth leadership and looked forward to using the global industrial technology resources and channel capabilities owned by multinationals in the future, and working closely with UNGLEP to jointly contribute to the cultivation of sustainable development leadership talents. Among them, Chairman Lu Yuebing said that Air Liquide has been committed to technological innovation to empower global sustainable development goals, and is well aware of the importance of young talents in promoting this process. It is expected to contribute to the realization of SDGs through the UNGLEP project platform; President Zhao Bingdi listed the achievements and contributions of Panasonic in building a green supply chain and vigorously promoting carbon reduction and social responsibility in the entire industry chain, and will open internship opportunities in the green supply chain and field to college students around the world, Drive the practice of SDG concepts in specific project scenarios; Vice President Wang Huiwen shared Lenovo Group's practical experience in the reconstruction of cross-cultural leadership as a leading practitioner of global business development of Chinese companies, especially Lenovo Group has released ESG reports for 18 consecutive years and won the highest AAA rating from MSCI, a world-renowned rating company. It looks forward to working with UNGLEP to promote the joint training and development of SDG and ESG talents in the fields of artificial intelligence and green digital transformation strategies; Professor Zuo Xiaolei, as an economist, published a special report on the importance and urgency of cultivating young leading talents in the era of artificial intelligence, which resonated with the participants. Senior representatives of international companies including Total Group, Lafarge Horay, Cargill, JA Solar, Accenture, and Mecha-Mind said that they will actively use their respective global industrial advantages and innovative power to support the development of the global youth SDG project initiated by UNGLEP. In the future, UNGLEP will continue to employ leaders of multinational companies as senior mentors of SDG and ESG global projects to provide industry, technology and investment scenario resources, and channel guidance knowledge sharing platforms to promote the realization of global sustainable development goals.

Before the forum began, representatives of multinational companies also collectively visited the SDG practice model enterprise - the largest independent automobile design center in Asia, the Alte Automotive R&D Center. Alte Automotive China's innovative technology and leading green ecological design achievements in AI, new energy vehicles, and autonomous driving won high praise from the guests present.
