Dr. Zhou Yuqing studied at Columbia University and Stanford University in the United States, where he successively obtained a Ph.D. in Mathematics and a Ph.D. in Finance. He has taught at the Business School of the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK), published several academic papers in top-tier international academic journals, and later was awarded a tenured position at the university. He collaborated with Professor James Mirrlees (Nobel Prize in Economics, 1996) to construct a mathematical model for the principal-agent mechanism of social ecosystems, a project funded by the Research Grants Council of Hong Kong in 2005. For this work, he received the CUHK Outstanding Theoretical Achievement Award.

After leaving academia, Dr. Zhou embarked on a career in entrepreneurship and has accumulated extensive experience in investing in enterprises and projects. In 2012, he led the planning of the creative project ‘Green Development and Cultural Poverty Alleviation in the Wuling Mountain Area of Hunan,’ which was selected as a key case study in the report ‘China 2030,’ co-authored by the World Bank and the Ministry of Finance of China under the leadership of then Vice Premier Li Keqiang. The project is currently being implemented with funding organized by the state.
